With the beginning of July we said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa Leccese and began adjusting to life as a family of five. As Davina commented to Robert there are seven heartbeats in the house now including the dogs. Corinne and Faelynn (with Daddy) were signed up for a 2-week swim class. Corinne started to get much more comfortable and confident with her swimming. Faelynn and Daddy just enjoyed their time together in water babies. Mommy and Dominic relaxed on the sidelines and took pictures.
For the 4th of July holiday we enjoyed a visit to the base park for games and food and then came home and watched the fireworks from the end of our driveway. It was a great display. We also spent a day in Kansas City at LegoLand and the aquarium. It was fun!
In the later part of July Amie (Robert's sister) and her husband Mike, along with their three sons Josh, Ryan, and Kyle, came for a visit. Yes, there were ten people in the house. (Thank goodness the garage has been converted for extra play space.) It was a great visit full of activity. Josh turned 13 and we had a party for him. We also went to the Lake of the Ozarks for a day. We toured a cave and went swimming in the lake. The highlight of the visit was an evening of bumper boats, go-karts, and miniature golf.
On their last day here we went to Powell Gardens and toured around. Unfortunately with the heat and drought the plants and flowers were not their most vibrant. The best part of the visit was the fountain at the end. The kids loved getting soaked in their clothes.
