Davina, Corinne, and their friend Emily took a 5-day trip to Rome during the third week of January. It was a nice, warm break (temperatures in the 50s) from the cold winter days in Germany. We visited some old favorite churches and basilicas and also some new ones. With pizza for lunch and pasta for dinner, our stomachs were equally happy with the trip. The highlight of the trip was our audience with Pope Benedict. We hoped he would walk by us and get a picture with Corinne, but it was not to be. Maybe next time …
